1.Alternative text
Alternative text, which is accessible via screen reader, describes the subject matter of any given image. Arrow points to image of nurse checking blood pressure.

2.Accessible labels
Buttons are clearly labelled so their functions can be easily identified by assistive technology. Arrow points to search button where visual label contains the text “search” followed by a magnifying glass icon.

3.Keyboard accessibility
Users can navigate the site using just a keyboard. For people with disabilities, the common mouse is often inaccessible. Arrow points to keyboard illustration.

4.Color contrast
Contrast between text and background is critical for readability. Dark type atop a light colored backdrop ensures a legible interface. Arrow points to large header text with good contrast.
