Talk to a Section 508 compliance expert

How to become Section 508 compliant.

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 requires the federal government to “create, use and maintain Information and Communications Technology” that is accessible to people with disabilities.

Your website or mobile app is no exception!

As part of Perkins School for the Blind, the Perkins Access mission is to create a more accessible world for everyone.

Section 508 compliance should be a top priority at your organization if you:

  • Sell products or services to federal government agencies. All government agencies are required to comply with section 508 regulations.
  • Contract with federal government agencies. All digital documents and communications are required to be section 508 compliant too!
  • Receive federal funding and produce a good or service for the general public. Organizations that receive federal funding (i.e., educational institutions, research facilities, etc.) are also required to comply with section 508 regulations.
